The San Diego Sports Association’s programs recognize more than 5,500 local athletes and bring together more than 3,500 San Diegans each year to support the benefits of athletic achievement. This includes every local professional sports franchise, university, and high school. The Breitbard Hall of Fame, located in Petco Park’s Western Metal Supply Co. Building, is viewed by approximately 750,000 visitors each year and memorializes San Diego’s sports icons. The San Diego Sports Association’s community programs reach more than 1,500 local youth and provide them with opportunities to build confidence and learn valuable life lessons through sports. Via the Brad Fowler Memorial Scholarship, at least five graduating high school seniors receive a $5,000 college scholarship each year. If they remain in good academic standing following their first year, each student is eligible to earn a second $5k award. Since the program’s inception, more than $500,000 has been awarded in Brad’s name.
