For former San Diego Chargers kicker Rolf Benirschke, supporting the community of San Diego has been a lifelong affair, and social distancing isn’t going to stop that.
Speaking from his home, he sent a message of thanks and appreciation to all the medical and essential workers in San Diego along with a clever new way to help encourage people to stay home.
“As much as we want to get back on the field, we have to stay on the bench,” says Benirschke.
He isn’t alone in sending this message. A group of San Diego sports icons, including Padres Hall of Famer Trevor Hoffman, joined with Benirschke and sent in videos of their own. Together they encourage everyone in San Diego to follow CDC guidelines as the best way for people in San Diego to help support the local medical community and all those who are working on the frontlines against the virus.
