Every year the Perfect Game All-American Classic is considered the top exhibition game for high school baseball prospects from across the county. The rosters for this year’s game were just announced and Marcelo Mayer from Eastlake High School here in San Diego was chosen to the West team roster.
“I’m honored to be selected and can’t wait to compete with and against the best players in the nation,’’ said Mayer.
Since the game was first played in 2003, the Perfect Game All-American Classic has featured more than 400 future MLB players. Mayer is going to a be a senior at Eastlake this season, where he has started on the varsity team since his freshman year, and is already committed to play baseball at USC next year.
The game will be played on September 4 and can streamed on PerfectGame.TV.
