Norman Powell – (Lincoln High / Portland Trailblazers) The Lincoln High alum averaged more than 20 points per game during March and was the centerpiece of a trade deadline move seeing him go from the Toronto Raptors to the Portland Trailblazers where he is slated to be a key piece in their playoff push this season.
Sam Carrick – (San Diego Gulls) – The Leading scorer for the Gulls, Carrack continued to be a dynamic producer on the ice with seven goals and 13 points in the month, including closing out the month with a three-point night against their main rival: the Ontario Reign. His production is a huge part of why the Gulls lead the entire AHL in team goals (73) and home wins (11).
Amateur
Boogie Ellis (Mission Bay High / Memphis Basketball) – The Memphis guard had an electric month on the hardwood as he helped lead his team to an NIT title, including a game-high 23 points in the championship game.
DiJonai Carrington (Horizon Christian High / Baylor Basketball) – The Baylor guard was one the leading scorers for the Bear’s during their March Madness run, including 22 points against the #1 ranked UCONN, to help make it all the way to the Elite 8.
High School
Lucky Sutton (Cathedral Catholic High Football) – With Sutton leading the way, the Dons went 3-0. A junior, Sutton gained 463 yards on 51 carries with four TDs rushing while adding another 65 yards on pass receptions to average 177 yards a game.
Faith Choe (Torrey Pines High Field Hockey) – With 28 points (11 goals, six assists), the senior – who is headed to MIT – led the Falcons to a 10-0 record, including scoring the winning goal in a 2-1 triumph over Serra in a match of top-rated teams.
