For Padres starting shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr., late March was supposed to mean the start to a promising new baseball season.
While he can’t pack in to Petco Park right now, he is still finding ways to keep Padres fans entertained with baseball.
With all his downtime, Tatis has begun playing the popular video game MLB The Show and sharing clips of himself in action to his social media.
“First at bat with myself; here we go,” Tatis says at the beginning of his Instagram video before he erupts into loud cheers as he hit a home run into the Western Metal building.
From the comfort of his home-isolation, Tatis has begun to post clips of himself everyday playing against other Padres players online as a way to keep fans entertained and connected to the team.
The first video he posted was viewed almost a half-million times and had fans from all over baseball commenting and sharing the video to spread some baseball love while the season is on hold.
While there is no current date for the return of the MLB season, it seems apparent that the Padres young star misses the game and the crowd just as much as they miss seeing Taits in action.
If you have not seen the video before here is the original post.
